Attorney Ana Mendez Mencini is an experienced and knowledgeable immigration attorney with a history of strong advocacy in service to her clients. Herself the daughter of a Colombian immigrant, Ms. Mencini understands the many challenges immigrants face while dealing with immigration matters. She has the knowledge and experience needed to guide clients through the often difficult immigration process.
Ms. Mencini began her legal career working for the legal content provider, Lexis-Nexis. She then joined the firm of A. Traub & Cadiz where, as a staff attorney, she worked on family law, bankruptcy, landlord-tenant, and real estate cases. At the same time, she pursued her interest in immigration law by representing, on a pro bono basis, clients seeking asylum in the United States.
In 2005, Ms. Mencini left the firm of A. Traub & Cadiz to open her own law office, which primarily represented clients in immigration cases. In 2011, Ms. Mencini expanded her practice by joining the Chicago-Kent College of Law as an Assistant Professor of Law and the supervising attorney for their Immigration Clinic. In that role, Ms. Mencini supervised law students working on Immigration cases and taught Immigration law. She left Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2014 to concentrate on her private practice.
